What’s the next big photo-op for our mayor, you ask?The Aurora Mayor’s prayer breakfast. Yup you read it correct. What’s this is our Mayor turning a new leaf?
Has she come to her senses and started to repent for her sins? Check out the earth-shattering website here and decide for yourself:
http://www.auroramayorsprayerbreakfast.ca/ Because we know that the mayor is incapable of coming up with original ideas if anyone wonders where she stole the idea be sure to check out Richmond Hill, they’ve been doing it for 5 years now: http://www.prayforthem.ca/ I especially like the quote from the mayor :
“I encourage all Political Leaders, Business Leaders, Aurora Residents, Christians and the Community to come together” What a hypocrite, she encourages ALL, yet the event is $25. That is hardly inclusive. There are several citizens in our town that can’t justify paying $25 for some scrambled eggs and an opportunity to bask in our Mayor’s angelic integrity. Perhaps “Her Worship” gets off on having people pay for the privilege of kneeling in her presence. One wonders are they going to pass around a collection plate at the next council meeting? If there is one prayer that may be most suitable for someone so addicted to power it would be the Reinhold Niebuhr’s serenity prayer, shall we bow our heads. God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen. Although I question how effective this would be, as I believe our Mayor may be past the point of saving. Seinfeld said it best “Serenity now, Insanity later” How true. You know what would have been a better use for all the sponsorship funds for this event? If the mayor had used the funds to build some prayer booths at town hall, after all this is where most of the praying is done. Save us Jebus!
