The Hitchhikers Guide to the Highway of Truth

When Aurora council reaches a fork in the road is is always the same 3 councilors that choose the high road while the group of 6 clamber for the low road.

For both the mayor and councilor Gaertner to cry out that their integrity, and therefore that of the towns, is being attacked without merit is definitely a conscious choice in taking the low road.

You are publicly elected officials, you will be criticized, you will be held accountable.
If you don't like it,  too bad.  Call your mommies, but don't act like children in the council chambers any more.

Considering how much transparency her worship claims to have brought to council this term, it is ludicrous for her to think that she can try to hide all of her blatantly huge errors from the public.

Transparency is not selective, it's all or nothing.  The truth always comes into view.

James Allen said:

“The man who cannot endure to have his errors and shortcomings brought to the surface and made known, but tries to hide them, is unfit to walk the highway of truth.”

Madame mayor and councilor Gaertner,

If you wish to reclaim any respect you have lost, earn it.

If you make a mistake, admit it, learn from it and move on.  It's called taking the high road.

Think before you speak, and think twice as hard before you act.

If you're not up to either of those tasks I suggest you get your thumbs out of your asses and use them to hitch a ride out of town.

As for the rest of us, remember the guide : "Don't Panic"
