“weathered council ignores criticism”

Criticism-300x299

On page 15 of this week's Auroran there is a piece that is titled "Council weathers criticism".

The headline is as laughable as the content, and it is understandable why it was relegated to the last page of the paper.

Our mayor has effectively slammed the door shut on any criticism or any dissent as being "negative", and therefore dismissible.
The Gang of Six seem all too happy to stick their fingers in their ears, their heads up their asses and scream lalalalalala.

Great communication skills.

Criticism is part of doing your job.
Did you ever stop to wonder the reason behind all the criticism madame mayor?  You're tearing an entire town apart with your petty self absorbed fantastical and wholly political games.   Here's an idea, why don't you try and embrace the criticism instead of hoping it will go away.

Criticism outweighs praise for this administration about 1 million :1.

In fact the only praise that I can find for the job you are doing is coming from your office, which is hardly objective.  Is the reason for this absence of praise simply because people outside your inner circle are not as delusional as you?

Confidence and Integrity are attributes that are entirely lacking from our Mayor and why she is not fit to lead anything, let alone a town of our size.

Another one of my Christmas gifts (yes Santa was good this year) was the bullshit button.

I thought what better way to try it out, but to use it in response to this article.

1. "recent negative press concerning council might give people an unfavorable impression"

515gmsi-4tl

How about "actions" by council are giving people and unfavorable impression.

2. "it would be lovely if people could focus on celebrating what's good"

515gmsi-4tl

yes, lets all join hands and sing because obviously this council has no faults that need to be addressed.
Again, ignoring the criticism shows lack of respect to those who are asking the questions, and the community as a whole.

3." the town has strived to be a leader in accountability and transparency"

515gmsi-4tl

No, your election platform was created on these "buzzwords" no solutions have presented themselves, again accountability and transparency are provided externally to an organization, it isn't something that is controlled from inside.

4. "town missed the boat on communication because of "structure" and "operational costs"

515gmsi-4tl

So the reason that the Mayor and council are ineffective communicators is because they need someone to do it for them?
This mayor sure needs a lot of staff to accomplish what Mayors have come before have done which much less.
Making do with few resources is very admirable, and in some eyes sheer genius.

It is often said that the line between genius and insanity is thin.

When questioned about it the late Carl Sagan said:

"The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown."

It's all fun and games until someone loses their sanity.  So Madame mayor how about you wipe of that crusty makeup and take off the clown shoes so we can all get on with the business of the town.
