Projecting forward to the this year’s Jazz+/- festival, I trust the organizers will be successful once again in fueling Guy Poppe’s spectacular dance moves for everyone else’s enjoyment.
I think I may have a solution for achieving such a cultural offering: the air guitar.
Think about it. All that hot air Mr. Poppe usually releases on the AuroraCitizen could be used to power his own soundtrack. Could anything be more fitting?
Apparently he’s going to have built up a large reserve of hot air after recently proposing a self boycott of the AuroraCitizen.
Afterward the instrument could auctioned off as a way to raise money for the fledgling festival.
Should the festival not need the $ after being granted an abundance of it from the tax base perhaps it could be placed on display at the CulturalCentre ( you know that institution occupying the Church Street School where our Museum is supposed to be ) and they could exhibit it on one of their rotating displays.
An instrument as fine as this would offer more integrity and substance than the premise for operating a center for culture which no one in town agreed to, and came at the cost of our museum.
Until a museum is resurrected in that building, anything else operating behind those doors is just going through the motions.
I assume they’re getting their dance moves from Mr. Poppe himself, no doubt to the 1980’s Phil Collins hit.

- Saw it with my own two eyes
- So you can wipe off that grin
- I know where you’ve been
- It’s all been a pack of lies
