I chose to write it shortly after watching Tim Hurson’s TEDxMaastricht talk “The shock of the possible” which is a great, impassioned rant about the power of the unexpected in innovation.  If you haven’t had a chance to watch it I suggest you take 15 minutes and do so:
 

I particularly like Tim’s bocce ball analogy regarding setting targets regardless how elusive they may prove to be.

Innovation requires, nay, demands it. 

When the overlap of seemingly unrelated processes and patterns comes into a new focus, things get very interesting, and the whole world shifts a little in the recognition.
