Marshall Zhang of Richmond Hill recently discovered a new combination of drugs that could possibly be used to as a treatment for cystic fibrosis.

Oh yeah, he's also 16 years old, and a Grade 11 student at Bayview Secondary School.

If you are looking for reassurance of Ontario's public education system, especially how it's playing out in York Region I suggest you read the Toronto Star story on Marshall's accomplishments here:

Zhang used an advanced supercomputing system, the Canadian SCINET ( http://www.scinet.utoronto.ca/about.htm ) to see if two new compounds could help repair the defective protein that causes cystic fibrosis.

I don't know about you, but I'm inspired.

Watts on your mind?
