Clr. Gallo believes he is not guilty of writing copious letters to the Auroran.
To prove it he submitted another one last week.
You can read it here: http://www.newspapers-online.com/auroran/?p=5774 but be warned that reading his hopelessly strung together gibberish either requires significant intestinal fortitude or dashing distance from the nearest toilet.
This latest letter has to do with questioning why the Joint Operation Centre has ballooned in price.
Gee, I wonder.
It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact that the town, under the previous term of council which he was part of, decided to lease the Aurora Hydro building removing
it from any possibility of adaptable re-use for this project could it?
I suppose fact that additional lands had to be acquired for the Joint Ops Centre (at a cost of $millions) that then turned out to have issues requiring more $ isn’t worth factoring into his lopsided equation.
We are just discovering the huge misstep that happened with the surplus Aurora Hydro building, decided in the dying hours of the previous term of council:
What responsible landloard would construct and then enter into a 10 year lease (with 5 year extension) with no termination clause?
This is the second highly questionable lease agreement drafted by the previous term of council that has cost this town hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. The other one that comes to mind is the $1/yr lease of the Church Street School to the “Cultural” centre.
Both of these Lease agreements are drenched in sleaze.
To use Clr. Gallo’s own words :
“Would you undertake this expenditure, in this context, in your own business or household? I think not.”
After reading this letter I have absolutely no confidence that Clr. Gallo understands what is in the town’s best interest with respect to land holdings and can’t possibly fathom what would possess the councilor to readily share such ignorance with the community he purports to serve.
As far as landlords go I suggest placing a sizable eviction notice on his council seat this October.
