hitting the paywall


The Banner, as part of Metroland Media has introduced a paywall.


Yes, register now or you may miss out on quality journalism, like this headline from October of 2016:


So in addition to the revenue they gain from advertising, and from selling data about your clicks via cookies and scripts, you will now have to pay to read their pathetic attempt at local journalism.

A decision that worked so well for the Toronto Start they had to reverse it.

What Metroland Media is oblivious to is that in Aurora there is an alternative weekly paper that does not have a paywall.

Goodbye Banner, Aurora is on the other side of your wall if you ever want to join us again.
